Hi ! I’m Torie Bliss
mom of 3, wife, retired hairstylist & the creator of No Dress Code! You probably found NDC via my beauty/style instagram @Torielynnbliss which is where I realized my vintage moto tee collection was a hit for everyone (not just me)! One of my most asked questions has always been “where did you get your shirt?” I always hated that my answer was “it’s vintage” because who else hates when you loveeee something online and then can’t buy it anywhere because it doesn’t exist (even after a google image search). I’m a hoe for a graphic tee, I feel the most confident in them but modern day ones just rarely hit the same. There is something about a vintage tee that is perfection (why were things cooler back then). This is where my brain started cooking up the idea of designing modern day pieces but with cool, vintage vibes that others can actually buy because they weren’t thrifted randomly & created in the 1900s (that sounds dramatic but the 80s & 90s)
Why the name, No Dress Code?
Thinking of a name for my brand might have been the hardest thing. The shirt ideas were endless but a name idea had me stuck! THEN IT CLICKED! I was scrolling my instagram one night and came across some bully making fun of my outfit (ew). “You dress horrendous”, (rude…but also TY because it was an AHHH HA moment) Instantly "No Dress Code" popped into my head. A simple, yet to the point message that still sounds cool !!
Who cares what people think of your outfit.
Who cares if they don’t like it.
Who cares if it’s not “trendy”.
Personal style> trends
If you feel confident & cool in a fit that’s all that matters! The trend is being you!! I used to be nervous wearing certain outfits in public. I was afraid people would judge me for having a “different” outfit on. I did it anyways and as time went on that anxious feeling faded. That’s when I truly found & embraced my personal style! Judgey people will always be judgey you might as well like your outfit…
“We don’t follow dress codes, we write our own”
No rules, just vibes!
Ohh and why so many eagles?
I mean why not, they are badass! Eagles also stand for strength & freedom which fits perfectly into the message of being YOU!!!! We are going to be free as a bird when putting our fits together baby. Personally I love them and have always gravitated towards shirts, hats and jewelry with them. Most of my favorite vintage pieces have an eagle! So yes they are basically the No Dress Code mascot!
No Dress Code pieces are staples for your wardrobe that you can style in your own way! Timeless pieces, not just created for trends! Vintage vibes without the vintage price tag! And when someone asks what does “No Dress Code” mean you can tell them it means you can wear whatever the F you want & they should too! k I’m done rambling!
Thanks for being here & supporting No Dress Code, it means the world! Xx
